OPEN CALL·S

WORKS/WALKS IN PROGRESS

deadline: AUGUST 10, 2026

·· This is a double open call ··

WORKS is for the group exhibition at FOUND OBJECT

WALKS is for the performative walk from MISTEČKO to FOUND OBJECT.

Artists may apply to one or both of them.

1. WORKS IN PROGRESS

Located underneath L’Objet Trouvé in Prague, FOUND OBJECT is a recently opened art space  dedicated to experimental, process-based, and cross-disciplinary artistic practices. Following a summer break, the group exhibition Works in Progress will mark the reopening of the space and act as an introduction to its curatorial direction: open, playful, research-led, and attentive to artistic processes as much as to final outcomes.

For this exhibition, we are looking for projects that approach the artwork not as a final, fixed object, but as a creature, system or entity that unfolds over time: through research, interaction, collaboration, repetition, failure, play, or transformation.

We welcome works that are literally unfinished, ongoing, or still evolving, as well as finalized projects that reveal the process behind their making. The exhibition can also be an opportunity for artists to present their work in a different way — by sharing sketches, research material, documentation, trials, fragments, or unfinished stages that would be otherwise left unseen.

We are especially interested in works that are interactive and/or playful, social, research-based, . All media are welcome, with a particular interest in installation, documentary practice, video, multimedia, participatory formats, and works that invite some form of visitor engagement.

Artists are encouraged, but not required, to continue developing or activating the work during the exhibition.

The curatorial focus will be on process rather than outcome: on how a work comes into being, changes, hesitates, opens up, or remains unresolved.

1I. WALKS IN PROGRESS

COLLAB FOUND OBJECT x MISTEČKO

In collaboration with Místečko, Found Object invites artists to propose interventions for a performative walk from Místečko to Found Object, on September 13, 2026. [see itinerary below]

The walk will move from Žižkov to Holešovice — under the tunnel, over the bridge, through the Holešovice market area and past the former Bubny station — ending at Found Object Art Space for the vernissage of Works in Progress, a group exhibition focused on artistic process, experimentation, and unfinished forms.

We are looking for performative interventions, happenings, gestures, encounters, or small actions to take place along the route.

Proposals may be:

• static interventions encountered by the audience along the way,

• performances that accompany the group for part of the walk,

• actions that unfold throughout the entire itinerary,

• participatory, playful, contemplative, or quietly disruptive moments.

We are especially interested in proposals that respond to/engage with the surroundings of the walk — their architecture, environment, history, social context, memory, or everyday life — whether through play, observation, interaction, storytelling, embodiment, or reflection.

The interventions may explore the lines between art and activism, public space and private experience, walking and witnessing, collective movement and individual attention.

We encourage simple, flexible, low-tech proposals. Priority will be given to interventions that are light to produce and do not require special permits, amplification, or heavy technical equipment.

The walk will end at Found Object Art Space with a presentation of Works in Progress.
